Pantheon’s primary assets are the two major oil projects known as Ahpun and Kodiak which were delineated by several wells including (i) Alkaid-1, (ii) Talitha-A, (iii) Theta West-1 and (iv) Alkaid-2. These wells built on the discoveries made in the 1988 Pipeline #1 well, drilled by Arco. Oil bearing zones have been penetrated in the stacked pay zones through the 3,000+ ft column from the Brookian Shelf Margin Deltaic (SMD) intervals, Slope Fans and Basin Floor Fans (BFF) through to the Kuparuk Formation below the HRZ shale. There is also a host of other high impact exploration opportunities currently being matured.
Pantheon has over 1,000 square miles of modern, high quality, 3D seismic, most of which is proprietary, and has long life leases (+/- 8 years on average) that cover 193,000 contiguous acres on which billions of barrels of recoverable oil have been discovered. An additional 60,000 acres are to be formally awarded in summer 2024. This acreage position has been strategically refined over recent years and today Pantheon has a 100% working interest in all of its projects.
Being located in such close proximity to the Dalton Highway and Trans Alaska Pipeline infrastructure is a key point of differentiation and a tremendous advantage over all other undeveloped properties on the ANS. These benefits are material as the logistical challenges of operating on the ANS are substantially reduced. The close proximity to existing infrastructure that includes the common carrier, FERC regulated oil export pipeline is expected to save Pantheon tens or hundreds of millions of dollars of development capex and expedite development time horizons. Pantheon’s Alaskan projects will utilise unconventional oil production technologies such as horizontal drilling and stimulation, applied to conventional oil reservoirs in order to maximise reserves and production which has now become standard operating procedure across the entire North Slope.
Pantheon has enjoyed an excellent exploratory success rate drilling on the ANS which has resulted in billions of barrels of oil being discovered. It has acquired and extensive database over more than a decade of operating in that area. Of most importance is that the analysis of data received to date highlights the progression in the Company’s ability to accurately predict the presence of light oil bearing reservoirs using 3D seismic data, geological and geophysical capabilities, further enhancing confidence in future drilling and development planning.
